AJ works through monthly reporting, GST and annual accounts with a focus on keeping financial information consistent, well-structured and genuinely useful when schools are reviewing performance and planning ahead.

Before joining AFS, he trained at EY as an auditor, working across private companies, government organisations and NZX-listed entities. This experience gave him a strong grounding in financial reporting and a disciplined approach to working through detail.

He is particularly interested in understanding how financial information fits together, and ensuring reports make sense in practice, not just on paper. He has a practical, efficient style and prefers to keep things clear, direct and free from unnecessary complexity.

AJ is currently working toward his Chartered Accountant qualification and continues to build experience across school accounting, reporting and advisory work.

Outside of work, he is a passionate football fan and loyal Manchester United supporter. He also enjoys music, exploring different instruments and genres, and travelling, where he values experiencing new places, cultures and perspectives.
